Day 23: A picture of your favorite book
This one is very easy for some people. Many folks have a book that changed their lives, a book to which they can go back over and over again and in which they can find meaning. I know someone who reads the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy every fall. Michelle can read Catcher in the Rye over and over again. I honestly cannot think of a book that has had a profound impact on me.
Honestly, as someone who loves to read, it make me sad that I can't come up with one book that I can go to as my favorite book. I mean, I've read a high percentage of the "greatest 100 books" list the BBC put together, but can't come up with one that sticks in my head.
So, I'm asking you, the public, to give me your favorite book in comments, and I'll begin my reading list from there. Help me out?

1984
The Shining. No idea why, it's just the book I can always read.
Atlas Shrugged, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance (has little to nothing to do with motorcycle maintenance), anything by Jack Falla (books about hockey), The Fountainhead, The Celestine Prophecy and the books that followed it (if you want something with a spiritual exploration tinge to it). That would be the list off the top of my head.
Loved 1984.
I couldn't ever get into King. Ill try it though.
I could not get through The Fountainhead. Bored me to tears. Michelle reminded me of one, The Road, by Cormac McCarthy. Go read it. Now. You'll have to get used to McCarthy's style. His dialogue isn't in traditional dialogue format, but you become accustomed pretty quickly. It's a hell of a moving story.
